BAD HABITS?

Have you ever heard the song ‘Bad Habits’? I think it was released back in the 1960s. At a recent conference, a person sitting next to me said “I love these conferences because it gets my mind off my bad habits. I tried getting rid of smoking 10 years ago and I stopped for three months the first time and I felt so good, and then I kind of started again and I stopped. It has been a rollercoaster, and I also tried to stop biting my nails… I simply can’t stop…” and I listened carefully to what the person was saying. Just listened.

After a few days at the conference, the person came up to us with their cup of coffee and said “look, I have been bouncing around in my head what I off-loaded to you the other day… sorry about that…it’s just getting to me…can you help me?”  

I knew at that point, that this person genuinely wanted to make change and I mean really make change. As an NLP Master Coach, when you hear things like this you can see a person truly wants to take responsibility and lead their life.

So, of course we said yes – that person took control of their life. Just stop a moment and look at this situation… who do you know has bad habits… bad habits that are sapping energy, focus and the bank account? What would happen to their life if they did not have the bad habits? Was there ever a time when their life was great without the bad habits? Imagine having a great day every day instead?

What can you do to get rid of bad habits? Well, there are a number of ways. How not to do get rid of bad habits is to waste your energy on something that says it works and then you are back a year later with the same bad habits… has that ever happened to someone you know… of course it has!

Get your energy, health and life back. Get rid of those bad habits now because you KNOW you can. Your life is worth it, isn’t it?
